We are seeking a Site Accountant responsible for all site related accounting activities including cost control against plan, working capital management, capital spend analysis, and product costings.
Analyze, interpret, and adjust site management accounts in order to provide accurate financial reporting.
Any problems identified are resolved immediately in discussion with the relevant department.
Problems can be complex in terms of trouble shooting and links with other departments.
This can range from short to long term and can involve dealing with information that has a high degree of confidentiality.
Ensure that company accounting standards (Cowick Ordinance) and international accounting standards (IFRS) are complied with in order to satisfy internal and external auditing and regulatory expectations.
Monitors and advises on control of working capital to optimize cash flow.
Role requires regular communication with departmental heads on site as well as off-site communication with head office, accounts department and internal/external auditors.
Regular meetings with the site heads take place in order to discuss and review all financial aspects associated with the profitability of the site including working capital control, revenue costs and fixed asset cost control issues.
Control and development of inventory management and costing systems including monthly stock valuation, product costings, analysis of gross margins and standard cost variances, physical stock counting and overhead allocations.
Provide product costing support to sales and marketing as and when required as well as input into local BOMs and product routings.
Analyze and track capital projects and expenditures including management reports and SAP related tasks.
Site responsibility for the coordination of the periodic and annual strategic planning process over all departments and presentation to the Operations Manager, General Manager and Financial Director.
Provide support for internal and external audits and comply with requests from auditors.
Produce monthly and other periodic reports for the senior management team and Financial Directors.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
CPA or CMA Certification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the technical agriculture industry.
High degree of competence in all SAP accounting and inventory management functions.
Prior experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing business.
SAP product/batch and overhead absorption costing.
Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
Broad range of competence in other key areas within SAP.
Experience with internal & external audits and control procedures.
Understanding of site regulatory requirements.
In depth knowledge of corporate business procedures.
