*Sushi Chef and Kitchen Chef* As the Chef and cook at Kuma sushi, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen's operations, from menu learning and food preparation to quality control and kitchen maintenance.
Your culinary expertise, creativity, and leadership will play a pivotal role in maintaining our restaurant's reputation for excellence.
*Responsibilities:* * *Food Preparation:* Oversee food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation.
Ensure that all dishes meet high standards of taste, quality, and visual appeal.
* *Kitchen Teamwork:* Cooperate with kitchen staff, including prepping, cooking, and cleaning.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, setting clear expectations and providing guidance.
* *Inventory and Procurement:* Monitor and manage inventory levels.
Control food costs, minimize waste, and maintain accurate records.
* *Quality Control:* Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
Conduct regular taste tests and inspections.
* *Health and Safety:* Adhere to and enforce strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines.
* *Creativity:* Continuously innovate and experiment with new dishes, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles.
Stay updated with culinary trends and incorporate them into the menu when appropriate.
* *Customer Interaction:* Occasionally interact with guests to gather feedback, answer questions, and accommodate special requests.
* *Cost Management:* Monitor kitchen budgets, including labor and ingredient costs, and work toward achieving financial targets while maintaining quality.
*Qualifications:* * Proven experience as a Chef in a fast paced restaurant or culinary establishment.
* Culinary degree or equivalent culinary education is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of diverse cuisines, culinary techniques, and presentation.
* Leadership skills and the ability to inspire and mentor kitchen staff.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering dishes of the highest quality.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
* Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
