Stevenson School is seeking an English Teacher to cover a faculty leave for the month of January 2024.
The successful candidate will possess content expertise, along with prior experience in the development and delivery of lesson plans and teaching of English to high school students.
The leave replacement teacher will cover two sections of Grade 9 English.
The two classes will fall on every other day for a total of 9 teaching days in January.
The classes will be reading The Tempest.
Some lesson plans may be provided by department faculty.
This is a part-time, temporary position to start January 3, 2024.
Responsibilities Include:
Teach two sections of 9th grade English
Support student learning by incorporating a variety of pedagogical approaches to facilitate understanding across an array of learning styles
Develop students’ critical thinking, intellectual, and social and emotional skills
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in English, education, or related
A minimum of 3-years of previous Humanities teaching at a similar grade level
Excellent classroom management skills
Demonstrated confidence and aptitude with the use of instructional technology, such as Google Tools and related resources
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with all members of the community
Demonstrated interest in being part of a collaborative team
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the school community
