Position Summary (Commitment: June 28-August 16) Under the supervision of the Director of Intensive English Programs, this position delivers intensive English as a Second Language courses to international students and assists in program administration and development.
This is a special opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a meaningful impact on our program by planning and instructing engaging courses for our students.
It is also a great chance to gain experience working with an international, multilingual audience and to build intercultural competence.
Orientation begins June 30th and teaching continues until August 18th.
This is a part-time position for the duration of the summer program.
We at the English Language School feel it is important for our staff to be representative of the many identities within our larger MIIS, Monterey, California, USA, global community.
We seek to hire individuals with a range of backgrounds and experiences with language.

Requirements Teaching Responsibilities: 1.
Deliver up to 12 hours per week of instruction 2.
Assess students’ academic and other language-related needs and adapt instruction to fit those needs, while attaining Student Learning Objectives 3.
Administer assessment tools regularly to provide students with feedback on their language learning progress and to review the effectiveness of instruction 4.
Provide feedback on student progress to program administrators and student sponsor organizations 5.
Participate in student lunches, enhancement activities, and field trips Administrative Responsibilities: 1.
Establish and keep regular office hours 2.
Attend all scheduled program meetings and be available to collaborate with other members of the ELS team 3.
Participate in session orientation and closing activities 4.
Offer feedback and thoughts on program curriculum and assessment 5.
Work cooperatively with other faculty to assure continuity and consistency between elements of the program 6.
