Hey neighbor, Do you have a landscaping or small renovation project that would benefit from an extra pair of hands — even one that might span multiple days? Perhaps your yard's gotten out of control or your "DIY" project never seems to get done? Reply by email and tell me about it! I love to dig holes & trenches, pull weeds, prune trees, distribute mulch, revamp irrigation & drainage, build & repair hardscapes, retaining walls, fences, & gates, lift & move heavy stuff, assemble furniture, fix all manner of things, and more.
In short, I love helping people get things done! I'm happy to work right alongside you, taking direction as we go, or you can leave me to work on my own — it's totally up to you.
Just think of me as your "outdoor handyman".
🧑‍🌾, Justin About me: After a dozen years living in San Francisco, my wife and I bought a house in Fresno while she attended grad school.
We hired a general contractor to renovate the kitchen and 2 bathrooms while I worked on the rest of the house: 3 bedrooms, 6 closets, a large living room, and a 2-car garage with workshop.
I did all your typical DIY stuff: baseboards and trim, drywall repair, interior painting, light fixtures, bathroom fixtures, modular closet shelving and drawers, over 1,000 ft² of LVP flooring, etc.
I even replaced 9 hand-cut glass lites in a custom 8×5′ picture window with double-pane insulated glass units.
During the pandemic, I focused my attention on our quarter-acre suburban lot.
I imagined that I'd only spend a few weeks whipping it into shape, but in the end I spent 2 years on it! I put over 100 plants and trees in the ground (predominantly drought-tolerant/low-water species), built 4 raised garden beds and a fence to hide our pool pump, overhauled the entire irrigation system with new valves, new PVC pipes, and drip hose, dug 2 dry wells connected to 4 gutter downspouts, poured a concrete pad for our garbage cans, created custom wood and concrete bases for 22 low-voltage LED landscape lights, helped a neighbor build a floating deck around a stock tank pool, etc.
I even I took a 5-day timber framing course in Maine! To make a long story short, in 2022 my wife graduated and got a job in Monterey, so we sold Fresno house, and now we're renting in PG.
Since then — without a place of our own to maintain — I've been helping folks all over the area cross projects off their to-do lists.
Most of the time I'm their landscaper/gardener, occasionally I'm their handyman, and frequently I'm a hybrid of both.
Frankly I'd rather be a jack of all trades than master of one; keeps life interesting.
I'm willing to travel anywhere within about a 30-mile radius of Monterey (i.
e.
, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Pebble Beach, Seaside, Sand City, Del Rey Oaks, Marina, Castroville, Moss Landing, Prunedale, Carmel Valley, even Watsonville); if you're beyond that, let's chat.
