00 / hour Benefits: Eligible for medical, dental, and vision for employee; vacation, sick leave, holidays, retirement plan Reports to: Crisis Intervention Services Director Located: Monterey, CA *About the Agency* The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (MCRCC) is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to provide ongoing advocacy, support and healing for all victims and survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking and child abuse; and to prevent sexual violence in our community through education.
*Overview* The Crisis Intervention Services Manager is an integral part of the Crisis Intervention Team - a high functioning team that provides crisis intervention services to survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking and child abuse and their significant others.
The Crisis Intervention Services Manager provides these direct services to clients and supervises volunteer Sexual Assault Counselors who also do this work.
The Crisis Intervention Program includes the following components: * MCRCC’s helplines and the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).
Both programs are bilingual, 24-hours, and operated by staff and trained volunteer Sexual Assault Counselors.
* Sexual Assault Response Team (SART): SART includes trained nurse examiners and physicians' assistants, also known as Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (SAFE), local law enforcement agencies, the District Attorney's office and rape crisis advocates.
The SART approach helps reduce trauma and increase support, while ensuring efficient and consistent evidence collection.
* Child Abuse Treatment (CHAT) Program: Advocacy and counseling services, specifically for children.
The CHAT program also includes coordination with the Archer Child Advocacy Center (ACAC) and Monterey County Children’s Behavioral Health to provide accompaniment, advocacy, and counseling services to children.
* Advocacy and accompaniment: Survivors often have to tell their stories to law enforcement, social workers, the district attorney, and other entities to get what needs to be completed.
It is important that MCRCC provide support and let survivors know their rights in diverse environments.
All MCRCC staff and volunteers complete a 47-hour state certified sexual assault training to provide crisis intervention services to survivors and significant others.
*MAJOR FUNCTIONS* *Direct Services* * Provide direct client services including phone and in-person crisis intervention, accompaniment, and advocacy; * Respond to Sexual Assault Forensic Exams and interviews; * Track and monitor client calls, assess needs, provide or arranging client follow-ups and make referrals when appropriate; * Maintain SART bag supplies and SART bags for use by staff and volunteers; * Provide follow-up peer counseling at schools as requested by prevention educators; * Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; * Collect and maintain statistics regarding individual cases and enter case information into client management software * Assist in conducting client satisfaction surveys *Volunteer Sexual Assault Counselor Supervsion and Management * * Recruit, organize, and coordinate presenters and participants for the 47-hour trainings * Develop and maintain a pool of presenters, speakers and facilitators for the Sexual Assault Counselor trainings, monthly training, in-service meetings; * Supervise and support volunteer Sexual Assault Counselors in their work with survivors and significant others on the helpline and during Sexual Assault Forensic Exams * Ensure 24-hour coverage of helpline and SART program * Maintain all relevant documentation of all Sexual Assault Counselors’ ongoing trainings in their training files to ensure compliance with annual training requirements *Community Engagement* * Present agency services and SART trainings to other partner organizations; including law enforcement and social services * Update MCRCC protocol and policy related to SART * Work closely with the Crisis Intervention and Community Engagement Teams to maintain and strengthen MCRCC relationships with community partners; * Attend meetings, conferences, agency functions, fundraisers, events, and other job-related events as required * Assist with Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities (April) *General * * Attend meetings, conferences, agency functions, fundraisers, events, and other job-related events as required * Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information * Document all client contact, advocacy, and any other important information in MCRCC’s client management software * Perform agency and program administrative and operational tasks, as needed * Assist with advocate trainings, board and staff training, fundraising events and monthly advocate meetings * Report regularly to the Executive Director/Deputy Director/Community Engagement Director and otherwise to insure that they are fully informed of all program activities * Carry out other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Deputy Director/Crisis Intervention Director Engagement Director * Uphold and adhere to the policies and bylaws of the organization *QUALIFICATIONS**:* * BA/BS in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related field or two year minimum relevant experience, MFT/MSW (or intern) is a plus * Thorough knowledge of crisis intervention and trauma response (specifically sexual assault/PTSD) * Experience in volunteer program development, management and supervision * Familiarity with Monterey County and community resources * Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Bilingual (Spanish-English) required * Must have completed or be willing to complete 47 hour California State Sexual Assault Counselor certification (Training will be provided) * Capacity to work independently and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and community partners * Ability to use relevant technology * Ability and willingness to work with people of diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, socioeconomic, political backgrounds and sexual identities and orientations * Willing to work flexible hours including some evenings, early mornings and weekends as needed * Willing to serve as a staff backup resource person after hours for advocates as needed on a rotational basis; and as the second back-up staff person at all times * Ability to sit for the duration of SART/CART exams (4+ hours) * Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and carry vehicle insurance * Willingness to work remotely temporarily while the agency transitions back to working in-person at our Monterey office.
