The Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) provides oversight and support of all patient care and associated personnel for assigned program(s).
This oversight includes patient and personnel assignments, coordination of care, coordination of referrals, assessment of patient needs, and ensuring the plan of care is developed, implemented and updated.
The DPCS is responsible for the services provided by the home health and hospice programs and strives to provide the highest quality of care through all service lines.
The DPCS is responsible for staff engagement, development and performance, including policy, regulatory and compliance knowledge and adherence.
The DPCS is always available during operating hours (or designates a similarly qualified alternate) and participates in all activities relevant to assigned programs including setting/developing and executing strategic goals, budgets and staffing models.
The Director of Patient Care Services is the primary Clinical Manager for the Home Health/Hospice Programs and is essential for managing the complex, interdisciplinary care of home health/hospice patients.
The DPCS has joint responsibility with the COO/Administrator for seeing that patient care standards are met by participating in development and implementation of agency objectives to obtain and meet the agency vision and mission statements.
Experience/ Education/ Qualifications: Possession of a current RN license to practice in the state of California and current CPR certification.
Three to five years’ experience as a Home Health Supervisor or Hospice Manager.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking to supervise and coordinate clinical professionals and agency support staff.
Ability to learn to effectively operate computer hardware and software programs.
