ABOUT US! Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) is a Community Choice Aggregation agency established by local communities to source clean and renewable electricity for 435,000 customers in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara counties.
3CE’s board of directors represents 35 local city and county governments throughout the Central Coast.
3CE is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through local control of utility scale renewable electricity generation provided at competitive rates and the implementation of innovative energy programs that facilitate the electrification of transportation and built environments.
3CE promotes long-term electric rate stability and energy security while reducing reliance on fossil fuels and stimulating the local economy.

Example of Duties Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists in the planning and implementation of a wide variety of public-facing initiatives including print and digital media, outreach events, customer notifications and enrollment, and public affairs efforts.
Maintains relationships with print, radio, and television media and track media coverage of 3CE.
Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads copy for press releases, e-newsletter, “push communications”, website content, social media posts, etc.
Monitors social media posts and identifies issues or posts that require a response.
Assists the Manager of Communications and consultants in the customer notification and enrollment process.
Reviews and updates print copy and digital collateral.
Assists in organizing local photoshoots and other public campaign support.
Creates PowerPoint presentations and documents for presentations and press/public information packets.
Manages vendors on projects.
Maintains the website, social media channels, and customer notifications.
Typical Qualifications Knowledge of: The mission and goals of 3CE, its electric service options and customer programs.
AP Style and media monitoring/database platforms.
Principles, techniques and methods of public information and education, integrated marketing communication, community and media relations and public education.
Best practices for event planning and community outreach.
Best practices and techniques of social media marketing.
E-mail marketing platforms.
Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat and Adobe InDesign.
Diverse communities and cultures located in the Central Coast region.
Ability to: Prepare and present clear correspondence, reports, presentations, and proposals to a diverse audience.
Define problem areas and evaluate, recommend, and implement alternative solutions to complex issues and problems.
Effectively represent 3CE before the Operations and Policy Boards, Community Advisory Council, city councils, and other local, regional, state, and federal agencies, as well as in public meetings with local citizens.
Be detail oriented and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Work independently Deal tactfully and maintain effective working and diplomatic relations with various levels of staff, the public, civic organizations, and representatives from governmental, industry, media, and other agencies.
Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for the rights of individuals and differences in people’s ethnic and cultural heritage, attitudes, beliefs, goals, and interests.
Promote teamwork, a positive work environment, and collaborative problem solving.
Work effectively under stressful situations involving tight deadlines.
Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and legal guidelines.
Education and Experience: Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in English, journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field.
AND Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, public affairs, or closely related field.
Licenses: Possession and continued maintenance of a valid class C California driver’s license.
Supplemental Information 3CE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THIS RECRUITMENT AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICANTS.
HYBRYID WORK SCHEDULE AS DESIGNATED BY CEO: Current remote workdays are scheduled on Monday's and Thursday's OR Employee may elect to work a 9/80 work schedule with alternating Friday's or Monday's off.
BENEFITS: 3CE offers a competitive benefit structure to its full-time employees.
RETIREMENT- Employees contribute 10% of their salary on a pre-tax basis towards the PARS retirement system.
Employer contributes 10% towards PARS.
HEALTH INSURANCE- 3CE pays $1600.
00 towards employee and family medical, dental and vision.
3CE contributes up to $2400 annually towards flexible spending benefit and $3600.
00 towards HRA.
HEALTH & WELLNESS- 3CE contributes $1,000 per fiscal year for health, wellness and EV reimbursement.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION- 3CE offers 457 deferred compensations.
PTO- Accrued in accordance with tenure.
160 hours cap.
CELL PHONE ALLOWANCE- This position is eligible for cell phone allowance of $50.
00 monthly.
