Summary: Supports innovative Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) growers through solution-based selling of commercial, horticultural products and supplies to commercial cannabis cultivation and food production under cover in California and Nevada with a focus on central California.
Remote, home-office based, outside sales role.
Activities and Responsibilities:
• Travels regionally in central California and Nevada to call on current and prospective customers to generate sales to meet and exceed personal, division and company sales
• Manages accounts to ensure visibility to business plans and acts on sales opportunities consistent with and supportive of these plans.
• Engages with internal CEA team for administrative and technical support to support customer needs
• Develops short- and long-term account goals and strategies to maximize sales.
• Works closely with the CEA sales manager to develop action plans based on customer needs and concerns
• Conveys product knowledge using displays, sell sheets, catalogs, or other tools to engage customer interest.
• Collaborates with vendors and customers via live and virtual platforms to understand needs, address opportunities, and answer questions.
• Prepares and presents pricing and terms to secure orders
• Acts as liaison between customer and collectors to bring past due accounts up to date.
• Travels with vendors to build knowledge and seek additional sales opportunities.
Education and/or Experience: Previous experience in the horticultural industry desired.
Two to four years’ sales experience preferred.
Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where customers reward quick responses and action.
Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or Business preferred.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Willingness to Travel: Travel is required with this role.
Most travel will be in territory and road based.
Occasional air travel to sales meetings, training events, or regional/national trade shows may occur.
