We are looking for a Cannery Mechanic Class A who will maintain and repair industrial production equipment in a tomato cannery, primarily seamer and syruper machinery.
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, repairing and replacing equipment used for food manufacturing to ensure a consistent reliable production process.
This is a non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:
Performs preventative and predictive maintenance, calibration and testing of industrial vacuum syruper and seamer equipment.
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding
techniques.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, and performs repairs to equipment.
Disassembles/reassembles, repairs, constructs, overhauls, maintains, and installs all types of new and
existing syruper and seamer equipment and conveying, hydraulic and air systems.
Performs installation, start up and shut down of equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or vocational certification in Industrial Mechanical Engineering or related field; or, any equivalent combination of education, experience, certification, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
3 years’ experience as journey level industrial mechanical engineering technician, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of instrumentation, including calibration, repair and installation of vacuum syruper and seamer equipment.
1 year welding experience; fabrication skills preferred.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours and weekends during the canning packing season (typically July to early November).
Compensation:
The wage is $30.
47, based on experience and qualifications.
